CZECH REPUBLIC
The Czech Republic has grown substantially in importance as a business destination over the past decade. The traditional industries of brewing and engineering have continued to attract business visitors but new ventures, particularly in the automotive sector has meant the rapid expansion of the country’s business economy. CHINA

ROMANIA
Romania has undergone an astounding transformation since the fall of the Ceausescu regime in 1989. Once known as a country full of misery and despair, the Romania of today is not only a thriving tourist destination attracting record numbers of visitors from all over the world but the country has also emerged as one of the old ‘Eastern Bloc’s shining stars, with, amongst others, leading motor and telecommunications corporations establishing manufacturing plants there. Most of the new industry is settled in or around the country’s capital Bucharest. With excellent communication links to the rest of Europe and beyond and the favourable costs of setting up a plant in Romania, it is hard to see where the current trend of expansion will end.
