Our Partnership With Trees4Travel

Earlier this year, CT Business Travel partnered with Trees4Travel to assist our clients who want to commit to the environment with a simple, impactful, and affordable solution.

The partnership will enable clients to plant trees as they travel, offsetting their carbon emissions, reducing their carbon footprint and enabling them to make more mindful travel decisions.

Offsetting travel is easily calculable and relatively small as part of the total transaction value. The ability to offset business travel as an organisation is a quick and achievable win and only a small percentage of the total transaction cost.

If a client chooses to incorporate the Trees4Travel offsetting initiative, CT Business Travel will assist with:

• Calculating their business travel carbon footprint
• Integrating the offsetting programme seamlessly within their travel policy
• Reporting CO2 emissions for air, rail and car travel as well as accommodation
• Providing comprehensive reporting on the CT Business Travel dashboard

Not only do trees effectively absorb CO2, but they help filter the water we drink, provide jobs to 1.6 billion people worldwide, produce key ingredients in 25 per cent of all medicines and help support the welfare of local communities. It is often said trees are the best carbon technology.

Our world has space for an additional 1.2 trillion trees. If we restore and continue to protect forests, we can help neutralise and slowly reverse the current climate change trends. It is of vital importance to create a world where forests are expanding and not declining.

CT Business Travel and Trees4Travel In Action

Treatt, a natural extracts and ingredients manufacturer, were CT Business Travel’s first client to sign up to the Trees4Travel carbon offsetting initiative. Treatt will purchase a set amount of trees for each overseas trip, and on an annual basis make an additional purchase of trees if the donations throughout the year are in deficit.

Commenting on the Katie Severn, Global Sustainability Manager at Treatt, commented:
