The UK’s largest Covid testing provider is almost halving the cost of a PCR test in order to support the reopening of international travel.
Randox has announced it will offer international travellers a PCR test for just £60 compared to the usual cost of at least £100. It comes as Grant Shapps, Transport Secretary, called for the cost of PCR tests to be reduced in order to boost international travel.
Travellers can order the £60 home testing kit online before the sample is collected and sent to a laboratory. The cost is inclusive of the test, delivery, VAT and sample collection. Passengers will need to apply a discount code when purchasing the test which will be obtained from the airline when booking travel.
Dr Peter FitzGerald, Managing Director of Randox commented:
“In recognition of the needs of both the travel industry and the British public at this unprecedented time, Randox will reduce the all-inclusive cost of PCR testing for those in the UK undertaking international travel to £60 per test.
We can see the pressures faced by the both the travel industry and the general public and are committed to effective and economical testing to support holidaymakers and those undertaking international travel.”
