Manchester airport has provided a ‘positive update’ on the ongoing situation and has reported security waiting times are improving and a strong recruitment drive is underway.
The airport is one of several in the UK who has been experience delays and cancellations the past month due to soaring demand, restrictions lifting and staff shortages.
Following a strong recruitment drive, the airport has reported 500 new recruits are currently going through security training and vetting processes to bolster the workforce ahead of the summer season.
Passengers are still advised to arrive at the airport three hours before their departure, however reports suggest security waiting times are improving with 90% of passengers taking less than 30 minutes to get through security checks these last two weeks.
We advise travellers to arrive at the airport with plenty of time (3 hours minimum) and re-familiarising themselves with security rules and regulations.
