A growing number of worldwide countries have temporarily closed their borders to arrivals from the UK after it reported a more-infectious variant of coronavirus. UK government officials have reported that the new variant has spread quickly through London and the South East of England. Whilst top health officials stated there is no current evidence that the new variant was more deadly, it is proving to be up to 70% more transmissible.
In reaction to the news, a growing number of countries are imposing travel bans on the UK. Please find the most current information below:

All flights from the UK suspended temporarily. - Belgium
All flights from the UK suspended for at least 24 hours from midnight on 20th December. - Bulgaria
All flights to and from the UK suspended from midnight 20th December until January 31st. - Canada
All UK flights suspended for at least 72 hours from 20th December. - Chile
All flights from the UK suspended temporarily from 22nd December. - Colombia
All flights to the UK suspended. - Croatia
All passenger air traffic from the UK suspended for 48 hours from 20th December. - Denmark
All flights from the UK suspended for 48 hours starting 21st December at 09:00 GMT. - El Salvador
President Nayib Bukele stated anyone who had been in the UK or South Africa in the past 30 days will not be allowed to enter the country. - Estonia
All flights from the UK suspended temporarily. - Finland
All flights from the UK suspended for at least two weeks from 20th December. - France
All travel from the UK is banned for 48 hours from 21st December, including journeys “related to goods transport by road, air, sea or rail”. - Germany
All air links with the UK suspended from midnight on 20th December, with the ban initially lasting until December 31st. Cargo flights will be exempt. - Hong Kong
All flights from the UK suspended. - India
All flights from the UK suspended from 21st December until 31st December. - Italy
All flights from Great Britain suspended and the “entry into Italy of people who have stayed there during the last 14 days”. The new strain has been found in one person in Italy who recently returned from the UK. - Iran

Banning entry to foreign citizens travelling from the UK, Denmark and South Africa. - Kuwait
