Virgin Atlantic has announced plans to restart flights between London Heathrow and Cape Town this winter.
The British carrier will offer a seasonal daily service between 5th November 2022 and 24th March 2023, complementing Virgin’s year-round daily service between Heathrow and Johannesburg.
The route will use a three-class B787-9 aircraft and will operate as follows:
- VS478 departs Heathrow @ 16:20 and arrives Cape Town @ 06:00 the following day
- VS479 departs Cape Town @ 07:50 and arrives Heathrow @ 17:45
Juha Jarvinen, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic, commented:
“We’re incredibly excited to return to the fabulous city of Cape Town with daily services from November.
“Although a little later than we we’d have liked due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the move reflects the fact that travel is recovering and global demand for holidays to sunny, premium destinations is returning at pace.
British Airways also flies between London Heathrow and Cape Town and Johannesburg.
