The RMT union has announced plans of a national rail strike on 27th July as well as 13th, 18th and 20th August.
It has been reported that over 40,000 workers from 14 rail operating companies would take part in the walkout which is regarding pay, job security and working conditions. Those operators taking part include:
- Chiltern Railways
- Cross Country Trains
- Greater Anglia
- LNER
- East Midlands Railway
- C2C
- Great Western Railway
- Northern Trains
- South Eastern
- South Western Railway
- Transpennine Express
- Avanti West Coast
- West Midlands Trains
- GTR (including Gatwick Express
There will be a very limited service running with some lines and stations not opening at all.
