Travellers will face disrupted rail services from 3 -10 November across the UK when railway workers at 14 operating companies stage strikes due to long running disputes over pay, jobs and conditions.
Members of Rail, Maritime and Transport workers union (RMT) and the Transport of Salaried Staff’s Association (TSSA) will take strike action throughout this period. Additional union members who work for specific railway companies and represent workers at ticket booths, stations, control rooms and support positions will participate in strikes and non-strikes over the same period.
The rail operators that are affected by the strikes are: Avanti West Coast, Chiltern Railways, CrossCountry, C2C, East Midland Railway, Greater Anglia, Great Western Railway, GTR (including Gatwick Express), LNER, Northern Trains, Southwestern Railway, SouthEastern, TransPennine Express and West Midland Trains.
In separate disputes London Underground and Overground (Arriva Rail London) workers who are RMT union members will strike on 10 November.
CT Business Travel highly recommends checking with your rail provider before travelling. We strongly advise that if you are planning to travel to a destination or an airport on those dates that you do not travel by train and find an alternative mode of transport. Please contact the team for support and assistance regarding this.
