The RMT Union has announced further strikes and wider action on the railways after rejecting offers from both train operators and Network Rail.
The union’s 40,000 members across 14 train operations will strike on 16 March with three further strike days planned for 18 and 30 March and 1 April. These walkouts will each last 24 hours, causing severe disruption to travel on the strike days and affecting journeys on the days either side.
RMT members working for National Rail will also take strike action on 16 March, until 2am on 17 March.
The first 24-hour strike action will coincide with strikes planned by teachers, which is likely to close many schools across England and Wales.
CT Business Travel highly recommends checking with your rail provider before travelling. We strongly advise that if you are planning to travel to a destination or an airport on the affected strike days, that you do not travel by train and find an alternative mode of transport. Please contact the team for support and assistance regarding this.
