Security staff at London Heathrow airport will go on strike from 31 March – 9 April.
The Unite union has confirmed more than 1,400 of its members employed at Heathrow Airports Ltd (HAL) are striking over the busy Easter period.
A London Heathrow spokesperson advised: “Passengers can be reassured that we have contingency plans which will keep the airport open and operational, despite unnecessary threats of strike action by Unite”.
This follows Friday’s announcement of more than 1,000 members of the Public and Commercial Services (PSC) union working in passport offices in England, Scotland and Wales voting to strike from 3 April – 5 May.
